No doubt on your travel itinerary at one stage or another is Singapore. A vibrant city where east meets west and heritage, modernity and opulence combine.
The changing skyline is evidence of the growth of this unabashedly wealthy city and luxury on a grand scale is exhibited for all to see at the one and only
Fullerton Bay Hotel. Having engaged Hong Kong based interior design virtuoso Andre Fu, The Fullerton Bay Hotel is a sensuous addition to the affluent Marina Bay waterfront.
The hotel lobby sits at the historic Clifford Pier, the landing point of Singapore’s forefathers. Taking cues from this history, vintage nautical maps are featured amongst the commissioned contemporary art highlighted throughout the space. Furniture pieces reflect perenakan and colonial styles in a tribute to the past. An expansive glass wall injects modernity into the grand space, opening the lobby and lounge to breathtaking cosmopolitan views.
The focus on heritage continues with the luxurious rooms adorned in tradition materials and patterns. Think printed silks, luxury cotton and velvet, as well as floor-to-ceiling polished rosewood latticed screens. Layers of rich chocolates and golds, paired with the textures exude warm elegance, perfect for a relaxing night in after a day of shopping.
Taking cues from the opulent spaces for your own home, my picks are the Jonathan Adler
Bergman Bench, Coco Republic
Baker Bed, Oly San Francisco
Christine Tall Round Table, Max Sparrow
Regent Rug, Max Sparrow
St Andrew Dresser, and Oly San Francisco
Layla Chair. Layer these pieces with luxurious accent cushions such as the
Amber Mohair Pillow and the
Mohair Platinum Pillow, both from Oly San Francisco.
