With Christmas just around the corner, now is the time to consider gifts. Whilst I haven't yet purchased my gifts yet for family and friends, I already have the wrapping paper, ribbons and cards sorted – after all, it's the best part.
You won’t find any bargain-bought Christmas-themed wrapping in my cupboards. Forget the cartoon Santas and reindeers. Add a little design flair to your gift-wrapping this Christmas.
Don't go overboard with red and green, that's my top tip. I love the use of crisp whites, kraft browns, mixed in with any colour or colours you choose. Try gold polka dotted paper tied in red or green pom-pom fringe tassel trims for a playful present. Tie in some round ‘jingle’ bells to prevent impatient gift guessing – you can’t shake a present when there’s a noisy bell attached!
There’s a lot you can do with plain brown paper, and one of my favourite things to do is to tie a Christmas striped lollypop or oversized candy cane to the top of the present. Wrap layers of twine around the present to hold the sweet treat tightly in place. Or add an Australian touch with a sprig of Eucalyptus.
Just because it’s Christmas doesn’t mean that you can’t introduce colours outside of greens, whites, and reds. Go all out with colour for bright and playful presents that will be sure to stand out from under your tree! Or for an on trend touch, introduce pastels such as mint or lilac.
I've compiled a fantastic gallery to give you inspiration this year. Enjoy!
